What GTA 6 will cost, and why no figure is confirmed
Every price you have seen quoted for this game traces back to a retailer placeholder or an analyst note. Rockstar has published two editions and no numbers, and that is the whole confirmed record.
| What | Where it stands | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Standard edition price | No edition pricing has been announced. | Unknown |
| Editions | Standard Edition, Ultimate Edition | Confirmed |
| Pre-order bonus | Vintage Vice City Pack, for every purchase made before November 20 | Confirmed |
| GTA+ offer | One free month with a digital pre-order | Confirmed |
| Pre-orders opened | June 25, 2026 | Confirmed |
| Release date | November 19, 2026 | Confirmed |
The honest answer
No edition pricing has been announced. Not on the Newswire, not on the official game site, and not as an official figure on either console storefront.
That is an uncomfortable thing to publish on a page people arrive at wanting a number, and it is the accurate state of the record. Pre-orders have been open since June 25, 2026 and Rockstar has still not made a price announcement of its own.
What is confirmed
Standard Edition, Ultimate Edition. Two tiers, no third, and no collector’s box announced.
The Standard Edition is the game. The Ultimate Edition adds what Rockstar describes as premium vehicles, weapons and apparel threaded across the story rather than dropped into a menu at the start. There is no published itemised list, so nobody outside the studio can tell you exactly what the gap between them buys.
Vintage Vice City Pack, for every purchase made before November 20. Note the condition, because most coverage gets it wrong: the pack is not exclusive to early buyers. Anyone who buys before that cut-off gets it.
One free month with a digital pre-order, on digital pre-orders.
Where the numbers you have seen come from
There are three sources for every figure circulating, and none of them is Rockstar.
Retailer placeholders. Storefronts need a value in the price field before a listing can go live. Retailers fill it with a regional default, and it changes without announcement. These are the figures that get screenshotted and passed around as leaks.
Analyst notes. Investment analysts publish expected pricing because pricing drives revenue models they have to forecast. They are educated guesses about a decision Take-Two has not made public, written for investors rather than players.
Reasoning from the last game and from the market. Perfectly sensible reasoning, and still not information.
Any of those could turn out to be right. None of them is a confirmed price, and none of them appears on this page as a number, because a plausible figure repeated by a site that looks authoritative is how a wrong number becomes accepted fact.
What actually determines it
Two things, and neither is fully in Rockstar’s hands.
Where the industry has landed on premium pricing. The ceiling has moved more than once in recent years, and each move was led by a publisher willing to take the criticism for going first. A release of this scale is the kind that either sets a new level or confirms the current one.
Regional pricing. Console pricing is set per market, and currency movements mean the headline number in one country tells you little about another. Whatever gets announced, check your own storefront rather than the figure in a headline.
When it will be confirmed
Pricing usually becomes official at one of three moments. A Rockstar announcement, which is the only one that makes it confirmed here. A storefront listing switching from placeholder to real price, which normally happens closer to launch and is often visible before any announcement. Or a Take-Two earnings call, where pricing gets discussed because it drives the revenue guidance analysts are asking about.
When it happens, the number goes into our data file with the source attached, and every page on this site that mentions price updates at once. Until then this page says unknown, which is the whole point of how this site works.
