Will GTA 6 come to PC, and when

This is the biggest open question about the release, and the honest answer is short. Nothing has been announced. What follows is the evidence, kept clearly separate from the guessing.

The confirmed record, in full

Rockstar has not announced a PC date.

That is the entire confirmed record about a PC version. Not a delayed date, not a window, not a “later” from an executive. Rockstar has said nothing at all, in either direction.

Every announcement since the first trailer has named the same two machines, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and has not mentioned PC once. There is no PC listing on Steam, no Epic listing, and no entry on the Rockstar launcher.

What that does and does not tell you

It does not mean there will not be one. Every mainline entry in this series has eventually reached PC. Reading the absence of an announcement as a cancellation would be as wrong as reading it as a promise.

It does not mean a date exists and is being withheld. It might. Publishers routinely hold a PC announcement to give it its own news cycle. That is a reasonable expectation and it is not information.

It does mean you cannot plan around it. If you are a PC player deciding whether to buy a console for this game, you are deciding without a date, and nobody can honestly give you one.

What the studio has done before

This is the part that gets quoted as though it were a schedule, so it is worth being precise about what it is.

The previous game in this series launched on consoles and reached PC considerably later, a gap measured in many months rather than weeks. The pattern repeated across other releases from the same studio: console first, PC later, with the PC version usually arriving with technical improvements the console version did not launch with.

That is a real, documented pattern and it is the best available basis for an expectation. It is also history rather than a plan. Studios change strategy, and the economics of PC releases have moved a long way since the last time this studio made the decision. Treating a historical gap as a countdown is how a lot of confident and wrong articles get written.

What would actually signal it

Four things, roughly in the order they usually appear.

A store listing appearing on Steam, Epic or the Rockstar launcher, often before any announcement and usually spotted within minutes.

System requirements published, which cannot happen until a PC build is far enough along to be measured.

A Take-Two earnings call, where a second release window is material to guidance and gets mentioned.

A Rockstar Newswire post, which is the only one of the four that makes it confirmed on this site.

Until one of those lands, this page says unknown, and it will keep saying so while pages that invent a window rank above it.

What to do in the meantime

If you own a console in the launch pair, you are covered on November 19, 2026 and this page is not your problem.

If you do not, the decision is whether waiting an unknown length of time is worth more than buying hardware now. Two things make that decision easier than it looks. The game is Single player only at launch, so there is no friend group to be locked out of. And a console bought for this game is not wasted if a PC version arrives later.

What we would not do is buy a graphics card for this game on the strength of a rumored PC date. There is not one.

Which consoles are in, and what each one gets, is on the platforms page. The launch date itself and how solid it looks is on the release date page.
